14 January 2027 is closer than you think
A structured review of your documentation against the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230. Gap list, priorities, schedule for remediation. Before the market surveillance authority checks.
Who needs this?
Managing directors and compliance officers at manufacturers that sell machinery and plant in the EU. Early review is strongly recommended – anyone who is not compliant in January 2027 risks market surveillance measures, sales stops and liability gaps in the event of damage.
How we proceed
- Assessment (week 1)A review of your current documentation against the central requirements of the Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 (digital provision, language versions, conformity trail, safety communication).
- Gap analysis (weeks 2–3)A structured gap list with priority (critical / important / recommendation), the effort to remediate and a risk assessment in the event of damage.
- Workshop with engineering and service (weeks 3–4)Two workshops for internal preparation. Engineering and service need to support the new requirements, otherwise the documentation update runs into a dead end.
- Schedule and handover (weeks 4–5)A concrete implementation schedule up to the deadline, with milestones, responsibilities and an effort estimate.
What you hold in your hand at the end
Frequently asked questions
Do we really need to review today already?
Yes. Typical adaptations (modularisation, language versions, setting up a conformity trail) take 12 to 18 months. Anyone who does not review now will have no time left in January 2027.
What is the biggest change compared to the old Machinery Directive?
Three central changes: digital provision of the instructions becomes the standard (a PDF often no longer suffices), language versions must be maintained in an audit-proof way, and the conformity trail must be documented across the entire life cycle.
What does remediation typically cost?
It depends heavily on your starting point. At level 2 or higher (a CCMS in place, modularisation established) typically 30 to 60 person-days. At level 0 or 1 (Word world) considerably more – then the path leads through a modernisation roadmap.
Can we get the compliance check without a follow-up engagement?
Yes. You receive the gap list and can implement it internally or with another service provider. The recommendation stands even without a follow-up mandate.
Initial consultation — one hour, free of charge
In 60 minutes we clarify your specific situation. At the end you receive a written assessment of one A4 page that you can use to move forward internally.
